Why Form a Missions Team?
The combination of construction work, evangelism, team building and interaction with people from different cultures profoundly affects every member of an Unto, Inc. team. Team members who come with an open mind and a flexible attitude experience an adventure they never forget! Our projects involve both the demonstration and the proclamation of the Gospel of Christ. As a result, teams leave their mark through bricks and mortar, but they also influence hearts and lives for eternity. Church congregations discover that this experience makes such an impact, that the life of their church is changed permanently for the better.
Who can Join?
Both skilled and unskilled workers can participate in Unto, Inc. missions teams. There is a role for everyone! National personnel at the overseas site will teach simple skills and methods employed in their nation. Participants must be at least 12 years of age, in good health and holders of valid passports. A basic understanding of the language spoken in the project country is helpful but not essential, as Unto, Inc. will supply interpreters. Special abilities in music, puppetry or drama can be used to create unique ministry opportunities.
What Accommodations can be Expected?
Unto, Inc. prioritizes safety and strives to make teams as comfortable as possible, while experiencing life in a foreign country. The camp accommodations are enclosed within a wall with monitored gates. While teams benefit from the camaraderie of shared bunks and bathrooms, attention is paid to cleanliness. An experienced staff prepares meals, consisting of a mix of native dishes and familiar American food.
What do Trips Cost?
Costs vary from project to project, depending largely on the destination and type of project. Generally, team members need to be prepared to raise or personally contribute anywhere from $1,150 to $2800 depending on the project, length of time, and location. The package price normally includes airfare, and all meals and accommodations in the project nation. Each group experiences some natural or cultural aspect of the country as a highlight. An Unto, Inc. representative will accompany your group and help make the necessary arrangements for you.
